Outdoor and Indoor scene navigation through vidoes

Postby kapoorvinny » Sun Jul 04, 2010 2:40 pm

Hi All,

I am doing a project on outdoor and indoor scene navigation with the video of that scene as an input.

I am storing all the static frames(or views) from the video and then have to perform the following operations:

1) Structure from motion(SFM) to know the camera positions and their viewing directions
2) Loop detection : detecting where the camera views are forming the closed loops
3) Transition within the closer views(neighbouring views or the non-neighbouring views but showing the same information, for example zoom-in of another view)

I need to ask some queries like:
1) For SFM , which is better : bundler , voodoo or other?
2) How can i find the loop detection: using feature matching or by some low level image processing(appearance based)
3) Is there any way of knowing which views are showing the same views (or part of view example zoom in of another view)

I am very keen to know the answers of above queries to get started and looking forward for some valuable suggestions.
