Separating close blobs

Postby njsokalski » Wed Jan 09, 2019 11:17 pm

I have an app in which I am scanning an image which contains a grid of squares. I am attempting to find each square (all of which are the same size) as a blob using filters. However, there are sometimes scenarios in which two of the squares are so close to each other that they end up being marked as a single blob. Even though the original image being scanned has black lines between all the squares, things like lighting and some filters can cause two squares to be combined into one blob. I am relatively new to AForge and image analysis, so I am not sure what to try next. What is the best way to avoid this? Thanks.
