AI-MAS Winter Olympics - AI event on February 23

For those of you who might be interested in participating in an event dedicated to AI, I would like to announce the AI-MAS Winter Olympics (AIWO) that will take place on February 23, 2013 in Bucharest, Romania.

AIWO is an international event which brings together AI professionals and enthusiasts from both academia and industry, offering a framework to share visions and results of Artificial Intelligence research. AIWO comprises 3 sections:
  • AI Olympics - the contest for AI enthusiasts with 3000 euro total prizes;
  • AI Talks - presentations and debates lead by specialists working in AI field;
  • AI Village - exhibition of exciting AI solutions, brought forward by research projects, such as autonomous robots, gadgets and demos of innovative technologies.
AIWO is organized under the aegis of the Romanian Association for Artificial Intelligence (ARIA). The project was initiated by the AI-MAS group from The Automatic Control and Computers Faculty, University Politehnica Bucharest.

There are only 2 weeks left until AI-MAS Winter Olympics (AIWO) 2013, the event for Artificial Intelligence enthusiasts!

  • AI Talks: research scientists from Google, Facebook, TeamNet, AQUASoft, Recognos and RobotsNet are coming to AI Talks to approach topics such as ambient intelligence, robots, swarm intelligence and Semantic Web. You can access the full agenda here:

  • see the AI Olympics final live: Crafting Quest 3 is approaching its final steps. With the qualifications round less than a week away, the best 8 teams will get to the final and battle for the grand prix.
  • make connections: meet other AI enthusiasts and discuss possible collaborations. Get acquainted with engineers from Facebook, Google and Adobe and explore your career opportunities.

When and where?
AIWO 2013 takes place on Saturday, February 23, at the Faculty of Automatic Control and Computers, University Politehnica of Bucharest.

AI-MAS Winter Olympics (AIWO 2013) is almost here. Join us on Saturday for:

AI Talks. A series of tech talks that zooms in on applications of AI research topics, including ambient intelligence, natural language processing, semantic Web, robotics and others. Get in touch with research scientists from top companies, such as Google or Facebook, but also discover Romanian companies conducting research in the field of AI. For more details visit

AI Village. Meet a well-known humanoid robot (NAO), visit the first ambient intelligence lab in Romania, check out an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), connect with people sharing your interests or discover research projects from top Romanian universities:

AI Olympics. Only 8 teams remained on the battlefield for a total of 3.000 Euro. Here are the finalists:
