I use the aforge library to detect motion, but I want to track a head of a person. Is it possible with the default functions of aforge?

Any suggesttion of how to do that?

Thanks in advance.

Well, it is really hard to say for sure, since the "track a head of a person" is quite broad tasks, which may have different solutions depending on requirements. There are different image processing routines, which may help ...

One of the ideas is based on the ability to detect head in still image. If you can do this, this you will be able to track in video - just track position of head's rectangle. But, detecting head in still is the most complex part of the task and really depends on camera setup, requirements.

If you would like to go from motion detector, than it may be harder. For example, the counting motion detector in AForge.NET Framework (the one which provides objects' position/size) use background modeling. This is it good point. But also it leads to issues like in face tracking task. The issue is that this detector updates its model of background and parts of the face, which are not moving for a while, will be taken as background. This leads to the fact that this motion detector finds not a single object (face), but many ... But, if you have motion detector, which gives only one detected object (entire face), than tracking of face is getting easer with it.

In short, there is no ready to use class, which provides position of head for the given video stream. This is something to experement with different techniques.
